Tomorrow (May 21st) is a free event that promotes healthy and happy worksites. Tim Burnett, Director of Mindfulness Northwest, will discuss the implementation of mindfulness into worksite wellness programs. Experts from the field will share best practices in nutrition and healthy vending machines and how to use technology to improve physical activity. Attendees will leave with terrific new ideas and connections to stay excited, as well as resources to share with their organizations.

Dinner With Heart is an annual event hosted by the American Heart Association to raise funds for medical research and programs that focus on reducing cardiovascular disease and stroke. Please contribute your time as a volunteer to help make this endeavor a success!
The event is a gathering of prominent business professionals and medical leaders that are contributing to the fight against against heart disease. The event includes splendid food and wine served in a rustic farmhouse setting. There will also be live and silent auctions, as well as great music! American Stroke Month is an opportunity to remind ourselves and each other about the dangers of stroke and how to spot a stroke if it occurs. Most Americans do not realize that stroke is a major health concern that claims millions of lives no matter what age, gender, or ethnicity.
Stroke is the NO. 5 cause of death and leading cause of disability in the United States. Every 40 seconds someone has a stroke and 1 out of every 6 people will suffer a stroke within his or her lifetime. Needless to say, it is a very serious problem that every American should be concerned with.
The good news is that stroke is largely preventable, treatable, and can ultimately be overcome. Please help us end stroke by educating your friends and family on the risks and providing them with the steps on how to react if someone nearby suffers from a stroke. You can use the acronym “F.A.S.T” as a brief guideline on how to identify stroke:
